Top 100 Movies, and other news...
Now that I've seen at least 50 of AFI's Top 100 Movies of all Time, and because Sarah asked me about it, I thought I'd compile my own "Clarke's Top 100 Movies of all Time." These are just mine, so feel free to bash/disagree if you want. There's not a whole lot of "classics," because if I put some of 'em on there, it'd just be me being pretentious, so I'm going with what I really think. Also, if you're super bored, you can copy the list and put it in a reply and see which ones you've seen (this is a requirement for Sarah, so I can see how much work I have to do =) Anyway, here it is:

Finally, Georgia, you need to check out the soundtrack to the movie "I'm Not There" (the one about Bob Dylan). Actually, Sarah, since you're not a big fan of Dylan's voice, you may like it, too. I can get it to either of you right away, just let me know. I never thought being called a Ranger (one of the coolest kinds of people from Lord of the Rings) would freak me out, but today proved there's a first time for everything...

A sad day for the wallet
So, today was a good day for the materialistic side of me (that everyone has to satiate every now and then) but not good for the ol' wallet. Thank God I have a job. Here's what was on my shopping list today:

Books - Terry Brook's new one, Armageddon's Children
DVDs - LOTR...for the third time. Bloody New Line knows all they have to do is add new bonus features/documentaries/raw footage and I'll buy it. The bastards.
Music - Bob Dylan - Modern Times. [info]wieimmer , we'll have to talk once we've both had a chance to listen to it.
Ray LaMontagne - Till the Sun Turns Black
Beach Boys - Pet Sounds - it's the albums 40th anniversary, and is one of the best albums EVER, and I don't own a copy, so I had to get it.

On other notes, good luck to [info]herminia with moving back to college in the coming days! I'll be thinking of you, and I hope it goes well.

And a very Happy Birthday to [info]rjade829

Cheers for now, friends!

Been tagged a couple times, might as well do it...
Rules: If you´re tagged you must list 6 random facts about yourself - 3 true 3 false, so people can guess which are which. Then tag 6 people to do this meme.

1. I've seen all 3 LOTR movie a collective 20 times in the theatre
2. I'm a raging anti-dentite.
3. I've seen Dave Matthews Band in concert 8 times.
4. I went to a Britney Spears a concert.
5. Country music rocks!
6. I play the drums.

I'm not going to tag anyone, because at this point, I think everyone's done it.

The Lord of the Rings Symphony and Portkey
Man, just got back from the Lord of the Rings Symphony. It was so great! The music just tells the story so beautifully, that you don't even need the images - the music creates them for you. And I got goosebumps when the children's choir did the Ring voice. Was absolutely brilliant!

Oh yeah, I got into Portkey too! woot woot for that! Anyway, I'm off to sleep before a 12-hour workday tomorrow. If you need me, just call hell, and I'll answer...

Explaining my name: tagged by [info]jeanniefillion
I almost never do this - mostly because I never get tagged - but [info]jeanniefillion is always so awesome and comments on my stories, so here it goes. So: Calmacil is an Elvish name, means "Bright Sword," and he was also a King of Numenor as well, if memory serves. And the 20 comes from the fact that there are 20 Rings of Power in The Lord of the Rings. So now, you all know how much of a "Ringer" I am =)

I'm probably going to break decorum here, but I'm only going to tag a few people (please forgive if this is a cardinal sin of LJ), so: [info]wieimer[info]aniraangel, [info]kid_bom, [info]neroli66, [info]shirehobbit2002

Death
Pippin: I didn't think it would end this way.
Gandalf: End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass. And then you see it...
Pippin: What? See what Gandalf?
Gandalf: White shores, and beyond a far green country under a swift sunrise.
Pippin: Well, that doesn't sound so bad.
Gandalf: No, no it doesn't
