::snarl::

Man alive, nothing like being called in for a full day of work when you're already sick. Loads of fun.

And, the best depiction of my frustration over New Line being such dumb-shits over "The Hobbit" (Dean is my hero):

What kind of reader am I? Clarke Reader, obviously...
So, that lame joke aside, here's the quiz:
What Kind of Reader Are You?
Your Result: Dedicated Reader

You are always trying to find the time to get back to your book. You are convinced that the world would be a much better place if only everyone read more.

Literate Good Citizen
Obsessive-Compulsive Bookworm
Book Snob
Fad Reader
Non-Reader

Two Great Quotes
So, thought I'd post two quotes that I've found pretty good the past couple days:

The first, obviosly, is from the Simpsons. Just a great Homer tirade:

"
Look, Marge, you don't know what it's like.  I'm  the one out
  there every day putting his ass on the line.  And I'm not out of
  order!  You're out of order.  The whole freaking system is
  out of order.  You want the truth?  You want the truth?!  You
  can't handle the truth!  'Cause when you reach over and put your
   hand into a pile of goo that was your best friend's face, you'll
   know what to do!  Forget it, Marge, it's Chinatown!"

And the other is from "One Fine Day," which is a pretty rampant "chick flick" but I was bored yesterday and it was the only thing on, and it does have a pretty good soundtrack. Anyway, it's George Clooney's character talking to his...maybe 8-year-old daughter, and it just struck me as hilarious, and something I would totally say to my daughter someday:

Jack Taylor:
Maggie, when you grow up and are incredibly beautiful and intelligent and possess a certain sweetness that's... that's like a distant promise to the brave, to the worthy, could you please not beat to a pulp every miserable bastard that comes your way simply because you can? Could you not do that?
Maggie Taylor: Okay Daddy.

So, those have been on my mind lately. Tomorrow's Thursday, which means newspaper day. Until then...

Waking Life

Title: Waking Life
Author: [info]calmacil_20
Rating: G
Summary: Harry's dreams and reality collide.
Author's Note: This is for [info]herminia (she knows why - and the reasons are several). It's my first attempt at a "drabble" but I like the medium, so I'll probably try it again soon, with a little more serious subject. Still, this goes out to the one who always encourages me with my writing, and is fortunate enough to be in possession of one of the sharpest wits out there. Enjoy.

The False Camelot
So I was driving to work today, using a different route than usual due to ridiculous amounts of traffic, when I drove by an apartment complex called Camelot Appartments. I was shocked; Camelot is not the kind of name to be used lightly. Unless this complex is run by an Art and Gwen, and is the pinnacle of peace and goodness in apartments, than it has no business dubbing itself Camelot. That or I take Aurthrian legends to seriously. Either or...

A Super confession
So I just saw "Superman Returns," - which I really enjoyed and encourage everyone to go see (Superman has always been one of my favorite superheroes) - and I just thought I'd clear something up. First off, my name is Clarke, secondly, I wear glasses and finally, I'm studying to be a journalist. Now I'm not saying I'm Superman, but you know...just in case anyone was wondering. Oh no, I've said too much. I've gotta fly...I mean run.

The Great and Magical town of Clark
You read that right friends! There is a town in Colorado named Clark (although I spell my name Clarke, but still); let me explain. A week or three ago when I went camping we camped at Steamboat Lake, which is right outside this little town called Clark. Now, I had been through there before, so that wasn't such a surprise. What was a surprise was the fact, that as we drove by my mom said, "was it created on September 16th?" (which happens to be my birthday) and sure enough, it was. Weird eh? It was created on Sept. 16, 1889, exacly 96 years before I was born. Wonders never cease. Anyway, I have attached a picture if you doubt (excuse my crazy look  - I'd been camping for 3 days). So, behold the wonder of the town of Clark!

An ode to Evan, my wonderful wife...
I know a girl, she puts the color inside of my world,
and it's so hard for us to be so far off living our separate lives;
so I'll check the weather wherever you are 'cause I want to know if you can see the stars tonight.
And I can tell you this much, I will marry just once
'cause ever since I tried trying not find every little meaning in my life, I've been fine, I've been cool
And I am here now, and she is here now.

So close your mind and waste some time if you have to...

Something about you, it's just the way you move, the way you move me.
I'm tired of being alone, so hurry up and get here
And I, in time, will come around, I always do for you.
Your mouth was so dirty;
she's the brightest thing I got
And I can't remember life before her name.
